By all means attempt to go out and film your idea without looking at HOW to do it and all the easily made mistakes... but when you decide to go out and RE-film your video due to the poor lighting, continuity and poor shot selection-> go take a look here first.
Storyboard Tips

Make sure you include ALL your KEY frames when creating your storyboard so you don't miss anything important when working out your timings or when filming. Using Post-it notes will enable you to move shots around after you have drawn them, should you change your mind.
Remember to draw the image with the correct framing (you shouldn't see someone's legs on a Long Shot!) and the pic below should help you to incorporate movement into your planning. BBC Production Advice
